The Crags

Noco Climbing Guides has access to multiple locations around Fort Collins. Each area offers a different experience depending on your current climbing abilities, what type of climbing your group is seeking, and what skills you aim to learn.

Arthur’s Rock

Lory State Park is located just west of Fort Collins and Horsetooth Reservoir. Lory offers an abundance of recreational activities, including some of Fort Collins’ best climbing. With expansive views climbers can enjoy Traditional and Sport Climbing routes of all grades (Beginner to Advanced).

Approach: A moderate 30-50 minute hike (great warm-up!)

The Torture Chamber

Basically the opposite of its namesake. The Torture Chamber offers some well-known classics and easy access along the ridge to quickly set up top rope anchors. With walls reaching 30 feet, it is great starting place for those that feel intimidated by heights.

Approach: A short 5 minute walk from the car.

Duncan’s Ridge

Duncan’s Ridge, is located on the east side of Horsetooth Reservoir, only a few minutes from Fort Collins. Duncan’s is a NoCo classic and a great place for beginners to learn the ropes. There are a good variety of climbs, easy access for top rope set-up, and a great view of the reservoir.

Approach: A moderate, but short hike from the parking lot.
